TDK Semiconductor offers the first member of a family of soft modem analog front end (AFE) devices. The 73M1901 includes a 16-bit CODEC and a fully differential hybrid circuit, and supports low-speed (V.22bis) and high-speed transmission up to 56 Kbps (V.92).
The 73M1901 allows designers to lower total system cost in satellite set-top boxes, PCs, game consoles and other consumer appliances requiring network access. Building on TDK's well-known K-Series and 73M2901 series of single-chip modems, the 73M1901 supports on-chip transformer DAA line sensing and control, loop back and two power-conserving operating modes. The 73M1901 facilitates integration with popular processors and high-speed modem data pumps and can be configured for CTR-21, FCC and other Telco standards.
