High-linearity, multi-octave RF mixers for up to 40 GHz

24 November 2021 Telecoms, Datacoms, Wireless, IoT

Two new SMT-packaged multi-octave RF mixers featuring high linearity and broad bandwidths have been added to Marki Microwave’s stable of products.

The MM1-1040HPSM is an ideal choice for 5G signal analyser applications. This mmWave mixer spans the entire Ku- through Ka-bands in a small 3 x 3 mm QFN package. RF/LO bandwidth is 10 to 40 GHz and IF is DC to 12 GHz, enabling numerous applications including 5G, electronic warfare, satcom and mmWave body scanners.

The MM1-1040HPSM features a low 7 dB conversion loss, +20 dBm IIP3, excellent spur suppression and high isolation. Optimal performance can be achieved by pairing it with Marki’s AMM series of broadband mmWave LO driver amplifiers. Evaluation boards are available.

For X- through Ka-band coverage up to 32 GHz, e.g. for satcom and 5G applications, the MM1-0832HPSM is available. RF and LO bandwidth covers 8 to 32 GHz, IF spans a wide DC to 12 GHz and the LO supports drive levels from +12 dBm to +23 dBm. This mixer provides up to 50 dB of LO isolation and +23 dBm IIP3 with a +18 dBm LO. It is available in a 3 x 3 mm QFN or connectorised evaluation module.
