The QPX0003D from Qorvo is a compact I/Q mixer with an RF/LO frequency from 30 to 40 GHz and an IF frequency from DC to 5 GHz. It provides more than 15 dB of image rejection and has a conversion loss of 7 dB at 35 GHz. This mixer can be configured as an image reject mixer, a single-sideband upconverter or a QPSK modulator/demodulator. It provides an LO to RF isolation of 35 dB and an LO to IF isolation of 25 dB.
The mixer utilises two double balanced mixer cells and a 90° hybrid on the LO port with an external 90° hybrid on the IF port to complete the image rejection or sideband suppression. It is a smaller alternative to higher-cost hybrid I/Q mixers and single-sideband upconverter assemblies.
The QPX0003D is available as a die that measures 1140 x 1500 microns and is suitable for use in image reject down-conversion, single-sideband modulation, low-noise receiver systems, phase detection and QPSK modulation/demodulation applications.
