The HM-BT220X from HOPERF is a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) data transmission module, based on a BLE 5.2 SoC chip with an integrated ARM Cortex-M33 32-bit processor running at up to 76,8 MHz. The SoC has an embedded 2,4 GHz transceiver and is equipped with an on-board PCB antenna.
The module communicates with an external MCU to quickly set up a wireless connection and data transmission between BLE slave devices and BLE master devices such as mobile phones and tablets. The external MCU has a low resource occupation providing longer lifespan for battery-operated devices.
Broadcasting takes place automatically once the module is powered on, allowing a mobile host device to scan and connect to it. After successful connection, the module can be operated through the BLE protocol. The external MCU can carry out wireless communication with the mobile device through the serial port (UART) of the module, and the external MCU can also send control commands to change the communication parameters through the serial port of module. Communication baud rate is 115200 bps.
The module has a sensitivity of -98,9 dBm and a transmit output of 6 dBm. It consumes 3,6 mA during reception, 4,1 mA while transmitting, and only 1,4 μA in sleep mode.
