The AM3269 from Mercury Systems is a high-performance RF preselector module designed to improve receiver sensitivity and signal integrity in demanding electronic warfare, signals intelligence, test, and communications applications. Covering the 2 GHz to 18 GHz frequency range, the module delivers advanced signal conditioning capabilities in a compact package optimised for modern size, weight, and power (SWaP) requirements.

Designed specifically for multichannel architectures, the AM3269 features four receive and four transmit channels. Each channel incorporates independently adjustable filtering and gain control, enabling the module to adapt dynamically to changing signal environments. This flexibility allows system designers to optimise receiver performance, improve selectivity, and minimise the impact of unwanted signals across multiple channels simultaneously.

A key feature of the AM3269 is its ability to significantly improve the dynamic range of DirectRF digitisation systems. By performing front-end signal conditioning and preselection before digitisation, the module helps suppress out-of-band interference and reduces the likelihood of receiver desensitisation in congested electromagnetic environments. Similar Mercury preselector technologies are designed to enhance receiver linearity, while maintaining low-noise performance across the 2 GHz to 18 GHz spectrum.

The module also incorporates an internal TX-to-RX loopback path for built-in diagnostics, simplifying system verification and maintenance. This capability enables users to perform health monitoring and test procedures without requiring additional external hardware.

Despite its extensive functionality, the AM3269 maintains a compact footprint, making it well suited to airborne platforms, mobile systems, and high-density rack-mounted installations where multiple channels must be accommodated in limited space.

For designers developing next-generation DirectRF and wideband receiver platforms, the AM3269 offers an effective means of improving signal quality, enhancing dynamic range, and ensuring reliable operation in challenging RF environments.
