CML's programmable paging decoder IC, the CMX823 is a high performance, low power, audio tone decoder suited for many applications, including two-tone and 5/6 tone pagers, tone alert radios, selective calling systems (SELCALL), and voice pager switching/signalling. Tone alert radios and pagers are widely used to reliably and rapidly communicate emergency conditions such as fire, severe weather, chemical spill, nuclear hazard, or security threat, to responding personnel and affected populations.
The CMX823 accurately detects tones under all signalling conditions to better ensure emergency tone alerts are received and significantly increase the alert system coverage area. It supports user-defined tones from 280 to 3500 Hz and allows users to create their own tone frequency 'alphabet' to support standard and non-standard tone paging and radio systems. It can detect up to 32 user-defined tones to support a large population of receiver addresses. Available outputs include 'tone decoded', 'no tone' and 'unlisted tone' and the individual tone decoded is also indicated.
The CMX823 is available in 16-pin TSSOP and DIL packages and with 0,75 mA typical operating current and a powersave mode is well suited for battery or solar-powered applications.
