Multiport modem cards

24 January 2001 Telecoms, Datacoms, Wireless, IoT

Connect Tech's modem cards, the MaxxAccess, are four and eight port, multiport modem cards for PCI bus compatible computers. MaxxAccess 4/8 adapters offer four or eight V.90 56k modems on one PCI bus adapter to provide high-speed data, fax and voice communications on one integrated product. With the appropriate off-the-shelf software, the MaxxAccess allows one to connect with other remote users through modem pools, fax servers or remote access servers.

Key features are: four or eight V.90 56k modems; data, fax and voice operation; industry standard Rockwell modem chipset; can accommodate large applications, with up to eight adapters per system; hardware flow control; Windows-based diagnostics.

Rapid data transfer rates of up to 230 Kbps on the data modem interface, 56 Kbps on the modem interface and 14,4 Kbps on the facsimile are possible. State-of-the-art 16C654 quad UARTs with 64 byte TxD/RxD FIFO buffers offload interrupt handling and buffering from the main CPU, thus improving the overall system performance.

The MaxxAccess 4/8 adapters support all the most popular operating systems and communications software. An enhanced AT command set is also provided. MaxxAccess 4/8 adapters are fully PCI plug-&-play compliant and come ready for simple installation. Included are a board, four or eight RJ-11 phone cables, device drivers software and a comprehensive manual.
