Integrated terminal for M2M applications

2 April 2008 Telecoms, Datacoms, Wireless, IoT

The new GT864 terminal from Telit is a complete modem terminal for M2M applications based on the GE864 GSM/GPRS quad-band core engine, including an integrated SIM card reader.

The GT864 offers all relevant data services over the GSM/GPRS networks, extended temperature range, integrated TCP/IP stack by means of the Easy GPRS feature, directly controlled by AT commands and with a broad supply voltage range (5 to 36 V d.c.), making it a complete standalone solution for M2M applications.

The GT864-PY, on the basis of the Easy Script feature and with a Python script developed by the user, allows self-controlled operations, which enable, by means of the RS232 interface, communication with a sensor or actuator. The GT864-QUAD module has analog audio I/O at the mini USB connector to support the connectivity of a headset or microphone/speaker, while the Telit GT864-PY module has on the same connector some general purpose I/O, allowing the use of external digital signals to control the behaviour of the terminal.
