Novatel recently introduced the OEMV-1DF, claiming it to be the world’s smallest dual-frequency RTK (real-time kinematic) receiver, at just 46 x 71 x 13 mm. The device can easily fit into handheld survey devices or optimise UAV and other low-payload applications. Consuming only 1,2 W of power, the module maximises battery life, enabling longer hours of equipment operation.
The OEMV-1DF takes advantage of Novatel’s OEMV receiver platform. Similar to the OEMV-2 and OEMV-3, the OEMV-1DF is equipped with ‘AdVance RTK’ for consistent and reliable centimetre-level positioning in real-world conditions and at extended baselines. The module features dual-frequency L1/L2 GPS tracking for increased accuracy and robustness and boasts enhanced interference rejection for consistent GPS positioning and measurements. The solution is scalable and software upgradeable in the field for customised functionality.
